Yet another Lansmash event is upon us. This time, SUMMERSMASH! The Tekken tournament will be run on Saturday 6th of February. Watch this space for updates on tourney times. Sign up quick! There is a limit of 32 players.

TL;DR. Pay 15 dollars entry, play Tekken if you want. The event is GREAT for leeching stuff.

It makes me wonder though, Tekken/Virtua Fighter have always done poorly in the states (ratings wise), where Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat have ranked well. What could have happened if there was a Mortal Kombat title up for vote. We all know how much of a piece of trash MK vs DC was… These type of awards are more based on popularity over technicality, take the GameFAQs battles, you could argue that X could beat Y hands down, but you get your fanboi’s coming in voting Sephiroth up… and so on.

Tournament games will include: Tekken 6, Street Fighter IV, Left4Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2.

What: SantaSmash 2009 – 200 Player Gamer Party
Where: QSAC (aka ANZ stadium) Kessels Road, Nathan Queensland
When: 9am to 10pm Saturday 12th and 9am to 9pm Sunday 13th
Cost: $15 for one day – $25 for two days
Registrations will open once we finalise which competitions are on Saturday

Street Fighter IV Snuggie

The picture was taken by Twitter user withgandana from some store’s shelves stocking Snuggies, otherwise known as WTF blankets.

No word on whether the blanket will actually make you a better Street Fighter IV player. Oh, and it looks like the Street Fighter IV blanket is exclusive to Xbox 360 owners as the two douche bags on the cover of the box are holding 360 controllers. Sorry PlayStation 3 owners. Looks like you got screwed over again.
