Sorry for taking so long with this transfer, as noted before work is crazy and it will be crazy until somewhere around May. Shoto, I’ll try and get the forums active asap, the fact that I’ve now moved AP onto WPL means that I’m half way done with some stuff I want to do.

For those wanting to know, minor WP update, plus also moved servers.

Farewell old friend

On the 19th of this month, the original (well somewhat original due to hardware replacement) AP server was no more. I just wanted to take this moment to thank Rackspace for the close to 10 years of fanatical support. If ever we decide that we need to expand AP again, I will be filling out those forms. I try not to think of the $25,000 odd spent on this server over the past 10 years, more that I see the friends that the server has made, the community that has been brought together due to it just being there. No price can be put on what we made.

Here comes a new Challenger!

With online capabilities being one of the key elements of the Tekken 6 console release, we have put together a little tool to help you find players. Currently the online system is plagued with lag issues, so hopefully this tool will help reduce the lag you are battling with.

You can access this information by navigating to the Challenger page on the top menu bar. We are currently listing three systems at the moment, PS3, Xbox 360, and Arcade. To add your self to a listing you will be required to register. Once you have registered, it’s as simple as adding your Location details to your profile, and you will be listed instantly.

We are still in the process of refining this tool, so if you see anything that doesn’t look right, please comment on this article and we will get to fixing it as soon as we can.

Forum Import Update

Just an update on the status of the Forum. The base structure of the old forum software is being re-written so that WordPress can access the threads and so on, so it shouldn’t be too far away. Additionally you can now modify your profiles with XBL and PSN information. I will also be trying to get the Member panel in the top right corner out tonight so that you can navigate to these pages and change the data without an issue.

If you have any suggestions for the forum (tweaks etc) post them now.

User Import Complete

Details
The initial user database consisted of 7489 users. After some consideration, I decided to reduce that database down to active members only. This left us with 744 members. The reason to reduce was made more due to the fact that 90% of the database consisted of accounts that were used to download the videos that we used to host, and since they never took part in any of forum discussions, they were deemed unnecessary to import. If at any stage they wish to re-activate, they can send an email to myself and I will import the data into the system.

Instructions
Due to the way that WordPress does password encryption conflicting with AP’s password encryption, you will have to request that your password be reset.
To do this go here and enter your AP username, or the email address that you registered with.
You will then receive and email where you can confirm the password reset.

The move hasn’t been as smooth as I had hoped and considering that Tekken 6 will hit shelves here in Australia soon, it would be good to get something online as soon as possible. So here it is, Arcadepimp:Zero. For the moment everything is bare, even the theme still needs tweaking, so please forgive me for that. I will post something as things become available again.

One of the first things that I need to do is import the 7,472 user accounts into this WordPress system (this is why user registration is off at the moment). I want to utilize as much of the WordPress functionality before I have to code more into the system. That said, I will be retaining as much of AP’s old database and importing it back into this system.

Sorry again about all this, but well… stuff happens.
